Call To Action! On Monday, August 4, 2008 at 6:00 PM the Town of Mooresville will consider implementing a Gross Receipt Tax. This is a privilege license tax that will be levied on the privilege of conducting a trade or business in the Town of Mooresville. Your place of business does not have to be in Mooresville for you to be taxed.

The Commissioners meeting is at the Mooresville Town Hall 413 N. Main St. We are asking any and all members who are doing business in Mooresville to attend this meeting. As an industry that is facing a difficult time, we do not need another tax placed on our businesses. Most businesses, if implemented, will be charged a rate of $.60 per $1,000 of gross receipts. In an effort to defeat this proposal, we need to show up in numbers to let the Mayor and City Commissioners we do not want this tax. Click here for the Ordinance.
